Job Summary

The Director of New Programs leads and oversees the development of new technology programs and brings new and innovative technology to the University to enhance its ability to provide learn by doing opportunities to Cal Poly students. This position provides strategic leadership and executive relationship development with non-profit, government, and educational institutions. This position works with Academic Technologies and academic affairs leadership to add additional value to the academic and research enterprise; and mission of Cal Poly.

This position is eligible for remote work pursuant to Cal Poly's Telecommuting and Remote Work Guidelines and the CSU policy requiring that all work be performed within the State of California.

Department Summary
Cal Poly New Programs and Digital Transformation Hub (DxHub) support state and national cybersecurity and digital transformation initiatives through education, workforce development, and applied research, to build a skilled and innovative cyber workforce and identify cloud-based solutions to complex challenges.

  • Expert knowledge of current issues and opportunities associated with information technology and cyber security as it relates to large, complex higher education organizations.
  • Skilled at operating effectively and efficiently in an environment of change and ambiguity.
  • Skilled at managing a complex information technology organization and building and leading strong, diverse, goal-oriented teams.
  • Skilled at holding self and others accountable to cearly stated commitments.
  • Working knowledge of the value of diversity and inclusivity at every level of an IT organization.

Education and Experience
  • Master's degree and eight years of experience working in or leading a technology support organization with three years of experience leading the development, management and support of enterprise data center and network systems.

Salary and Benefits

The anticipated hiring range for this role is $160,464 - $168,487 Per Year. Note that the offer is calculated based on the background and relevant years of experience of the individual selected.

This position may be "Designated" under California State University's Conflict of Interest Code. This would require the filing of a Statement of Economic Interest on an annual basis and the completion of training within 6 months of assuming office and every 2 years thereafter.
