Captain Server Job Description:
Position Title: Captain Server
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Reports To: Restaurant Manager
Department: Front of House- Service
Job Summary:
The captain Server is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests, overseeing the FOH team, and ensuring smooth service coordination between FOH and kitchen teams. The captain Server will create a memorable dining experience for guests and lead by example to maintain high service excellence.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises all servers and support staff.
Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:
· Provide exceptional guest service to ensure a memorable dining experience for guests.
· Oversee the FOH team, including scheduling, training, and mentoring.
· Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages, coordinating effectively with the kitchen team. Manage guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
· Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding the menu, daily specials, and wine service.
· Train and mentor junior FOH staff to ensure high service excellence. Perform opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down the dining room and performing cleaning tasks.
· Communicate effectively with FOH and kitchen staff to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
· Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards and regulations.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a server in a fine dining establishment, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
· Knowledge of wine and beverage service preferred.
Work Environment:
· The environment requires the team member to work in a temperature-controlled environment.
· Required to work weekends and irregular hours.
· Requires working under stressful conditions.
· Must be able to work safely in a noisy area.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be physically able to stand for up to 10 hours a day.
· Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods.
· Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
· Requires setting up and breaking down the dining room and performing cleaning tasks.
