CIVIL ENGINEER II
The City of Dubuque invites applications for the position of Civil Engineer
II. The successful candidate will perform engineering duties in planning,
budgeting, designing, and overseeing construction, maintenance, and
management of city infrastructure in compliance with state and federal
regulations, focused primarily on the sanitary sewer collection system, but
including stormwater management facilities, potable water distribution
facilities, roads, and fiber optic communication facilities; perform
civil engineering design and supervisory work; supervise Engineering
Technicians, Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) Inspectors, and support staff; and
perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Municipal,
Water Resource, Environmental Engineering or related field; five years
of experience performing municipal engineering work; registration as a
Professional Engineer by time of appointment; registration as a Professional
Engineer with the Iowa State Board of Engineering Examiners within six
months of appointment; possession of a valid state driver’s license and
automobile insurance consistent with City requirements by first day of
appointment required. The successful candidate will possess the ability to

innovation and teamwork. The City offers an annual salary range of
$73,860 - $96,574, and an attractive benefits package which includes
twelve weeks of paid parental leave.
