Gannett is seeking a candidate to fill the role of Sr. Solutions Analyst. Sr. Solutions Analyst is responsible for managing the organization’s archive system(s) and leading a related virtual team of solution analysts assisting in supporting the core technologies and related workflows. The archived content in scope is print media centric data such as articles, images, and complete page PDFs and is used internally for historical reference of our published content. The content is also an important revenue source sold to third-party content providers.
The candidate will also be part of an internal team working toward a 2022/2023 project to determine the organizations next generation enterprise archive solution. The effort includes assessing the company’s existing archive solutions and workflows and vetting opportunities for a combined single solution.
Primary requirements of the position include the following:
· Ensuring all print centric assets in digital form and related metadata are successfully archived
· Assisting in the preservation of story and photo rights management
· Ensuring the successful delivery of archived content to revenue generating external third-party partners
· Collaborating with key members and departments within the organization as well as third-party vendors to develop and manage the overall strategy and vision of the archive solution.
· Assisting on developing and supporting escalation procedures to timely address issues
· Assisting in creating training materials and documenting related workflows
· Assisting with improving the organization’s archive asset management platform
· Maintaining high quality standards and ensuring process optimization
· Leading, coaching, identifying and triaging issues with I.T. colleagues and business side stakeholders.
Required Skills
· 5 years proven leadership with archive systems and asset curation, preferably in a print publishing environment
· Knowledge of publishing and content management systems best practices/standards
· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead a 4-5 member virtual team
· Solid ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools
· Strong communication skills and ability to work with middle management and internal stakeholders
· Solid organizational and documentation skills, with ability to build on knowledge base and author project updates and weekly status reports
Strongly Preferred
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Knowledge and familiarity with Structured Query Language
· Familiarity in scripting languages such as Perl, PHP, JavaScript, Shell, etc.,
· Familiarity with Linux and Apache
· Knowledge in XML and metadata
