King County's Finance and Business Operations Division, Financial Management section, is seeking a Accounts Receivable Specialist (Fiscal Specialist 3)!

The King County Financial Management Section, Accounts Receivable Unit is looking to find an energetic, data-driven, analytical, results-oriented Fiscal Specialist III who has strong interpersonal skills, a sharp eye for detail, and is eager to work toward team goals. In this role, you will be contributing to the health of King County financials by accurately processing accounts receivable and ensuring quality customer service.

Scope of Job Duties: To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum, demonstrate knowledge, skill and ability to:
  • Post receipts to invoices created in Oracle and remit daily batches. Reconcile batches to deposit. Post Miscellaneous Cash Receipts to EBS coding provided by departments.
  • Act as a primary support for the ORACLE EBS Accounts Receivable Receipts module.
  • Post Payment Lockbox as assigned.
  • Coordinate with third party collection agency as assigned.
  • Responsible for invoice prep and customer service for assigned customer group.
  • Reconcile payments that are unidentified, suspended, or unapplied. Reverse payments and reapply payments in Oracle.
  • Provide Oracle EBS Accounts Receivable accounting and administration support, including ORACLE EBS month-end/year-end support and verifying, reconciling data discrepancies, and performing other various billing tasks such as preparing refunds, write-off requests, and journal entries.
  • Research payments received by using custom treasury software (Imagevision), provide back up, etc.
  • Conduct research on financial data which includes selecting appropriate materials needed, and the ability to document the findings.
  • Review and create business process documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Accounts Receivable;
  • Experience requesting refunds and processing refunds;
  • Experience with processing unapplied and on-account payments to invoices;
  • Experience with balancing and reconciling invoice transactions and accounting records for customer's accounts
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, writing and customer service skills;
  • Intermediate level of technology proficiency using MS Office Productivity tools in your daily work;
  • Ability to manage your time and adapt to changing priorities, work on multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, meet quick deadlines, and produce timely and quality work products;
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

Position Information:
  • Work Site Details: The work associated with this position will primarily be hybrid with two days in office per week.
  • Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
  • Work Schedule: This position is Non-Exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and therefore is overtime eligible. Employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule, every other Thursday, comprising a 40-hour workweek; normally 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  • Union Representation: This position is represented by Teamsters 117.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop. When working remotely employees must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work, remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours, and following FBOD's Hybrid and Remote Guidelines including on-camera participation during virtual video meetings. King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely.
