We are seeking a Soccer Coach/Instructor (4 - 10 hours per week) to lead a Teen Soccer Class at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center. Candidates should have knowledge of classroom management, strong organization skills, enjoy working with teens, and have a passion for soccer.

Who May Apply: This position is open to all qualified applicants. Must be 18 years old.

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing and soccer instruction.
  • Interact with participants in a positive and supportive manner, providing a role model for participants at all times.
  • Be proactive in resolving conflict among youth and ensuring a safe environment.
  • Enthusiastically promote and recruit youth for the program.
  • Keep accurate attendance records of program activities.
  • Set up equipment for program activities and store equipment and clean facility at end of program.
  • Enforce Teen Program rules and King County policies and procedures.
  • Represent King County Parks in a professional manner to youth, parents, school and agency personnel, and the community at large.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills



We seek candidates with the following:
  • Demonstrated prior teaching experience.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, rules, materials and equipment required for a soccer program.
  • Skill in providing excellent customer service to a diverse customer base.
  • Skill in communicating clearly and respectfully.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with other employees.
  • Demonstrated skill in providing and following oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to prepare written reports as assigned.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations that may arise.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to working outdoors in all types of weather as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with program set-up and take-down.
  • Maintenance of current CPR and First Aid certifications.

Working Conditions:
  • Work Location: Steve Cox Memorial Park, 1321 SW 102nd, Seattle, WA 98146
  • Work Hours: The work schedule for this position is flexible and can vary, it works approximately 4 - 10 per week.
  • FLSA Status: This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
  • Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.
