Advance Practice Nurse Consultant
The North Carolina Board of Nursing is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Consultant. Applicants must have basic knowledge of laws and rules regulating education, certification, and practice for Advanced Practice Nurses; strong clinical nursing background; and knowledge of state and federal statutes.
The primary responsibilities of the position include consultation and interpretation of the Nursing Practice Act, Advanced Practice Nursing law and rules, participation in quality/performance improvement, and research initiatives. Applicant must be a strong communicator (both written and verbal) and able to analyze complex practice questions. An applicant must have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, be self-motivated, and have excellent time management skills.
Applicant must be recognized, eligible for recognition or have approval to practice by the NC Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and have a master’s degree or higher in nursing and national certification as a NP. Prior experience as an APRN for a minimum of 5 years is required. Applicant must hold an unencumbered RN license to practice in NC (or be eligible for licensure) and have a valid driver’s license. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Full time position based in Raleigh and travel required.
