THIS IS A PART-TIME GRANT-FUNDED POSITION

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Technician 1 assists with data collection, curation, and analysis related to clinical phenotyping of epilepsy disorders with a genetic cause.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists with data collection and data entry.
  2. Assists with the creation of data repository for clinical data from electronic health records and de-identified online data reservoirs.
  3. Executes surveys and collates data in preparation for data analysis under close supervision.
  4. Participates in lab meetings to discuss research progress.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of college coursework in science and one (1) year of laboratory experience; OR two (2) years of laboratory experience at Research Technician level.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of human neuroscience and basic genetics.
  • Ability to keep orderly up-to-date and accurate laboratory records, maintain organization, and exercise ethical practices.
  • Computer skills, particularly with all software in Microsoft Office.
  • Skills in communicating effectively and in talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Knowledge of database structure and management and data analysis is preferred.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends.
