Position Responsibilities:

This position will play a vital role in the exploration, development, and production of uranium in Wyoming. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting geological assessments, interpreting data to identify economic uranium extraction horizons using In-Situ recovery, resource estimation, exploration and delineation drillhole planning, environmental compliance, technical reporting, and providing crucial input to mining operations to ensure efficient extraction processes. This role demands a deep understanding of geological principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.  Specific responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Provide detailed geological assessments and technical expertise utilizing various geological mapping techniques, while supporting development projects and/or drilling programs.
  • Develops ore trend, stratigraphic and other geologic maps for technical analysis, evaluation, and planning purposes. Prepares or assists in preparation of geologic cross sections and reports and recommends action thereon.
  • Analyze and manage geologic data, including geophysical data, geochemical analyses, drill core and cutting samples, and carry out data compilation and interpretation of drilling data for target generation and mineral resource calculations.
  • Interpret drilling data from geophysical logs and drill samples to design effective production pattern layouts and monitor well requirements.
  • Perform mineral resource calculations using geological modeling and statistical methodologies to estimate grade and thickness of uranium deposits and submit reports to senior staff for review.
  • Provide assistance with technical reports and prepare internal geologic reports as requested.

  • This is a salary exempt position that involves occasional work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications: 

  • A minimum BS in Geology or Geological Engineering; experience in the mining industry with relevant experience in uranium a plus.
  • Understanding of geophysical logs and related concepts as used in in-situ uranium mining.
  • Understanding of hydrologic concepts as they relate to uranium deposition and mining.
  • Strong knowledge of geological and statistical modeling software.
  • Professional level oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet programs a plus.
