Project Geologist
Position Responsibilities:
As a Project Geologist, you will play a vital role in the exploration, delineation, and assessment of uranium deposits within a designated project area in Wyoming. Responsibilities will include conducting geological assessments, overseeing drilling programs, analyzing data, and providing geological interpretations to support decision-making process. This position requires a strong understanding of geological principles, exploration techniques, regulatory requirements specific to uranium mining, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Specific responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise drilling programs aimed at exploring and delineating uranium deposits ensuring best practices are being implemented in geological data collection and documentation.
- Monitor drilling operations to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and project timelines.
- Interpret geological structures, lithologies, and mineralization patterns to delineate potential deposit areas.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geological and geophysical data for resource estimation.
- Prepares or assists in preparation of geologic cross sections and reports and recommends action thereon.
- Analyze and manage geologic data, including geophysical data, geochemical analyses, drill core and cutting samples.
- Provide assistance with technical reports, permit applications, internal geologic reports, and environmental impact assessments.
- Commitment to safety in all aspects of work.
Job Requirements:
- This is a salary exempt position that involves occasional work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices in all work-related activities.
- Must be able to recognize hazardous conditions, follow company safety policies and practices and to engage in a strong safety culture.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- The successful candidate will be required to submit to mandatory drug and alcohol testing prior to employment.
Qualifications:
- A minimum BS in Geology or Geological Engineering; experience in the mining industry with relevant experience in uranium a plus.
- Understanding of geophysical logs and related concepts as used in in-situ uranium mining.
- Understanding of hydrologic concepts as they relate to uranium deposition and mining.
- Professional level oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet programs a plus.
