Job Description
The role will be based at our Foster City office when it becomes safe to travel. Until then, this role will be conducted remotely.
Positioned within Visa's Corporate Strategy group, Visa's Knowledge Services team is dedicated to providing research assistance and access to payment industry research to individuals across Visa globally. Among its key functions, the team manages an internal website, based on SharePoint, that is accessible to all Visa personnel. The site hosts searchable research content relating to the payments sector licensed through various research subscription services. In addition, the team provides research support for colleagues around Visa globally, responding to research requests by conducting preliminary online research and conveying findings to the requester. The team also oversees the distribution of the 'Daily News Brief', schedules monthly 'In the Know' webinars on topics of broad interest in the payments industry and maintains a steady communications flow with users highlighting new research resources and materials as they become available. The team continually engages with the IT, legal and sourcing teams to ensure the smooth functioning of Knowledge Services and on-going development of its intranet platform.
As one of four team members, the Senior Research Analyst largely works independently, managing multiple projects. Core duties for the role include:
- Research Support. Provide research support to Visa teams globally. Interact directly with Visa colleagues to understand the nature of the request, as needed. Search various sources including syndicated research reports housed in the Knowledge Center, databases available to the Knowledge Center, and external resources associated with the payments sector (e.g. Bank for International Settlements, The World Bank, The Federal Reserve Bank).
- Platform Development. Work with the Knowledge Services and Visa IT Services teams and take a leadership role to help drive strategic enhancements to the website, to improve UX, search and findability of information for all users.
- SharePoint. Participate with the Knowledge Services and Visa IT Services teams to manage and work with the current SharePoint platform.
- Reporting Usage Metrics. Utilizing available tools, periodically report metrics on usage of Knowledge Services offerings to management. Contribute to efforts to improve reporting metrics.
- Content Curation. Select, review, tag and upload research documents to the Knowledge Services platform. Participate in efforts to improve the taxonomy and overall process, which may include evaluation and selection of new tools to automate more of the process.
- Communications. Participate in creating and managing the distribution of Knowledge Center news materials to alert users of new research reports, services, etc. Potentially, help to summarize key takeaways from critical research reports on topics of high interest to users.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to work independently and collaborate across business groups and stakeholders
* Excellent research capabilities and track record of serving internal clients
* Ability to execute multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Familiarity with relevant technologies, such as those for search, content management systems and/or automation tools
* Intermediate level skill in Excel (e.g. using PivotTables)
* Experience with SharePoint
Basic Qualifications
* 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree
